European Qualification

Top 4 teams → UEFA Champions League group stage.

5th place → UEFA Europa League group stage.

6th place → UEFA Conference League play-off round (depending on Copa del Rey winner).

Copa del Rey winner → UEFA Europa League.
Relegation

Bottom 3 teams (18th, 19th, 20th) → Relegated to Segunda División.

Each plays 42 matches.
Promotion to La Liga

Top 2 teams → Direct promotion.

3rd to 6th → Promotion play-offs (semi-finals + final).

Winner of play-offs → 3rd promoted team.
Relegation

Bottom 4 clubs → Relegated to Primera Federación.

Introduced in 2021–22 season.

40 clubs, split into two groups of 20.

Winners of each group → Direct promotion to Segunda División.

2nd to 5th in each group → Play-offs for 2 more promotion spots.

Bottom 5 in each group → Relegated to Segunda Federación.
⚽ 4. Segunda Federación (4th Tier)

90 clubs, split into 5 groups of 18.

Group winners → Direct promotion to Primera Federación.

Play-offs decide extra promotion spots.

Bottom teams relegated to Tercera Federación.
⚽ 5. Tercera Federación (5th Tier)

Regional leagues, 18 groups across Spain.
